The focus of this position is to supervise and lead the dispatch operations of the second shift team. This person will meet all service requirements while adhering to the policies and procedures of Relay Express, Inc. The candidate must possess strong relationship skills and always maintain a positive solution- based attitude. The ideal candidate will have a strong intrapreneurial spirit and strong sense of ownership for dispatch and employee performance.

This role serves as the tip of the spear for a critical shift for Relay Express.

• Dispatch a high-performing team of contracted drivers to meet customer service and on time expectations.
• Have a complete understanding of Relay Express’ services and customer expectations for second shift.
• Track and trace drivers proactively throughout the shift using GPS and dispatch tools and maintaining phone contact at specified intervals to ensure on time pickup and delivery.
• Maintain a focus with your team to provide consistent updates by using the dispatch software system of green, yellow, red to make proactive updates.
• Log notes inside order tickets to create a detailed narrative of any discussion with the driver or customer. Record ETA’s, delays, or reason for communication with the customer.
• Maintains open communications with all departments regarding contactor drivers’ status and matters of attention.
• Exhibit a commitment to Safety including use of ELD software to ensure FMCSA compliance where needed, when applicable.
• Prepare Shift Report daily throughout your shift.
• Review each Shift Report for issues of service and develop corrective action plans.
• Attend weekly meetings with Management for review of Key Performance Indicators, Staffing performance, and routine maintenance of CXT items regarding scheduling.
• Maintain professional attire, language, and business demeanor in all dealings with customers, employees, and vendors.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Experience in fast-paced dispatch and customer service.
• Ability to multi-task through phone communications and real-time software-based tracking and dispatch systems
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office proficiency and the ability to become an expert in the company’s dispatch platform.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with direct reports and the driver fleet.
• Ability to problem-solve and redirect routes to meet customer and company needs
• Ability to motivate contractors.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Maintain a professional image and demeanor while adapting to changing customer needs and driver availability.

• Monday through Friday, 14:00-22:30
• Salary range $47,000-$51,000 based on experience
