We are searching for a talented
HIM Coordinator-Audit

Hours: 40 hrs

Shift: Day shift; 7:00am - 3:30pm

Location: Southcoast Business Center – Fairhaven, MA;
Position will follow a hybrid schedule

Under general supervision of Manager, Health Information Management or designee, perform diversified duties both within and in support of the Health Information Management Department. Answer telephone requests for patient information. Review patient record to determine if content is protected and if so, written patient authorization is required for approved release. Prepare and scan all discharged records daily. Perform audits and complete corrections of inaccurate data in data system.

Determine physician record completion status and serve as a resource to physicians by answering their questions related to coding queries, record completion, documentation and corrections in the electronic record. Ensure compliance with applicable hospital policies including HIPAA and Massachusetts general laws pertaining to the release and use of confidential patient information and when appropriate, request the patient complete an authorization form to release copies of medical records.

• An Associates Degree in a related field or the equivalent knowledge and experience is preferred.
• Over 3 years of related work experience and/or completion of a RHIT/RHIA program.
• Requires knowledge of medical record content and medical record terminology.
• Registered Health Information Technician is preferred.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.
• Compensation:
  Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.

USD $16.72 - USD $28.06 /Hr.
