Service Manager — Commercial Door & Dock Services / Be the heartbeat of the service department
Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year
A bit about us:The Service Manager is the heartbeat of the department — if you love leading a team, solving problems, and being trusted to run things your way, this is your seat.
We keep warehouses moving, trucks loading, and businesses running safely — and we have a good time doing it. We're a fast-growing overhead dock and door company that takes pride in doing quality work, supporting our technicians, and treating customers like partners.
The salary range above doesn't include additional compensation perks.
Why join us?- A team-first culture where your voice matters, with leadership that trusts you to run your department.
- Competitive pay and benefits, with real opportunities for growth as the company expands.
- A workplace that values hard work, humor, and mutual respect — no two days are the same.
- You’ll be the go-to problem-solver, not just a scheduler — real ownership over how your department runs.
- Direct visibility with leadership — your input on process and team decisions actually gets heard.
You start by reviewing the dispatch board and making sure today's jobs are matched to the right techs. Mid-morning, a tech calls in from the field with a tricky gate repair — you talk them through it and decide whether it needs a second set of hands. A customer escalation lands on your desk before lunch; you handle it personally and it's resolved by early afternoon.
You spend the rest of the day reviewing labor hours and KPIs, coordinating with the parts team on a delayed order, and wrapping up with a quick training session for a newer technician.
- Lead, coach, and support service technicians to perform safe, efficient, high-quality work.
- Schedule and dispatch service calls for dock equipment, overhead doors, gates, and related systems.
- Act as the main point of contact for service-related customer issues and escalations.
- Ensure technicians have the tools, training, and information needed to succeed.
- Monitor job progress, labor hours, and service KPIs to keep operations on track.
- Coordinate with parts, sales, and installation teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure OSHA and company compliance.
- Conduct performance reviews, training, and ongoing technician development.
- Jump in and solve problems personally when things don't go as planned — because they won't always.
- Proven experience managing a service team (dock & door, industrial equipment, construction, or similar trades preferred).
- Strong knowledge of overhead doors, dock levelers, dock seals/shelters, gates, or related mechanical systems.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills — you know how to motivate people and hold them accountable.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Net Suite or similar ERP/FSM system experience.
- Formal safety training or OSHA certification.
- Prior experience coordinating cross-functionally with sales and installation teams.
Strong Service Managers are frequently the first internal look when a Branch Manager opening comes up — this role is a proven stepping stone toward full P&L ownership as the company continues to grow.
