Overview
Overhead Door / Dock Equipment Technician. DAY SHIFT, overtime, company vehicle. Nationwide provider of commercial door, dock, and security access solutions. We install, repair, and maintain overhead doors, loading docks, gates, grilles, and access control systems for facilities across diverse industries. What You’ll Be Doing- In the field, install, service, and repair overhead doors (commercial and industrial) and associated dock equipment (levelers, seals, restraints).
- Install and service garage doors and operators, security gates and grilles, and related mechanical and electrical components.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues; perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
- Work from work orders, schematics, and manuals; ensure work is completed safely and up to code.
- Communicate with customers on-site and provide clear explanations of repairs and recommendations.
- 2+ years of experience with overhead doors, dock equipment, garage doors, or a similar mechanical/electrical trade.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic electrical troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to work independently in the field and manage time effectively.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Bonus: experience with dock levelers, edge-of-dock units, restraints; welding or fabrication; access control or low voltage systems; OSHA 10 or 30.
- Pay: $25–$40/hour depending on experience and location.
- Overtime: 1.5x; double time on Sundays and holidays (where applicable).
- Company vehicle provided from branch to job sites.
