Position: Simulation (PT) Clinical/ Lab Supervisor (Fairhope/Atmore)

The Simulation Part‑Time (PT) Clinical/Lab Supervisor supports the Nursing and Allied Health program by supervising student learning in the clinical/laboratory settings. This role contributes to the safe and effective delivery of clinical and/or laboratory instruction, supervises student performance, and maintains compliance with program and accreditation standards. The supervisor collaborates with college faculty and clinical partners to provide a high‑quality student-centered experience that prepares students for practice.

The supervisor must adhere to the general guidelines as specified by the College's Policy and Procedures Manual, the Dean of Nursing and Allied Health, and the Alabama Community College System (ACCS) Board of Trustees.

Hourly Rate(s)
  • AS or BS degree: $35.50
  • MS degree or higher: $36.50
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the simulation faculty, simulation operations specialist, and the simulation director when serving as a clinical/lab supervisor.
  • Supervise and guide students in all simulation clinical and laboratory activities.
  • Review students’ simulation clinical/lab documentation and preparation assignments.
  • Assist in evaluating student performance using established criteria.
  • Maintain regular communication with the course faculty regarding student progress.
  • Report to assigned duties promptly and punctually.
  • Foster and maintain professional relationships with college colleagues.
  • Provide timely input on student appraisals and submit them as directed to the course faculty.
  • Become familiar with and adhere to institutional policies and procedures as outlined in the College Catalog, Policy and Procedures Manual, and ACCS Policy Manual.
  • Maintain current professional licensure and meet health record requirements, including CPR certification, as required.
  • Maintain annual simulation professional development.
  • All positions at Coastal Alabama have the following responsibilities

    • Serves on and provides information to college committees as needed.
    • Complies with ACCS and College policies, as well as state and federal laws.
    • Ensures the positive promotion of the College and integration of all campuses within the College.
    • Is prompt and punctual in reporting for work, meetings, and office hours.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    Required Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing.
  • One year of work experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • An unencumbered Alabama RN license or a multi‑state license valid for practice in Alabama is required.
  • Strong clinical skills and/or experience supervising nursing students in clinical or lab settings.
  • Experience or education that reflects understanding of essentials of safe and effective care environments; illness prevention; health promotion, maintenance, and restoration; and the psychological well‑being of individuals across the life span.
  • Knowledge of nursing history and trends, cultural diversity, legal and ethical responsibilities, and professional practice, including leadership, management, and health care delivery systems.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use technology effectively.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Master's Degree in Nursing.
  • Clinical nursing experience in a hospital setting.
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Experience working in a simulation lab or with simulation‑based education.
