Assists with circulation functions and reference services to students, faculty, and other members of the campus community.
Local Hourly: $30.50 per hour.
Responsibilities- Performs circulation duties, including checking in and out of library materials; knowing and enforcing library and college policies; maintaining circulation records.
- Supervises access to copy machines, computers, and printers to ensure each is used for academic purposes and that copyright laws are upheld.
- Performs reference duties and keeps current in the use of electronic library programs and services offered by the college. This includes assisting patrons with reference questions, locating and selecting materials, directional questions, and point‑of‑use instructions.
- Teaches students and other library patrons how to use the library databases, software, and other functions necessary to fully utilize the library services.
- Assists with student registration activities and other college services as needed, including making student and employee IDs both in the library or learning resource center and those submitted electronically.
- Schedules use of library and learning resource center spaces as requested.
- Monitors library supply inventories, submits requests for materials and supplies, and maintains purchase order files for the campus library or learning resource center.
- Takes door counts, head counts, and maintains circulation and reference question statistics and submits reports regarding the same.
- Processes Interlibrary Loan requests, notifying patrons of receipt of materials, returning all borrowed materials, and maintaining Interlibrary Loan files.
- Visits classes to provide library instruction and to promote library and learning resource center services and holdings.
- Plans events and displays to promote Library Services use and information on the campus.
- Represents the Libraries and the College in a positive manner, both on campus and in the community.
- Handles sensitive information in a confidential manner.
- Maintains a highly professional attitude and demeanor at all times.
- Provides responsible, appropriate, and satisfactory leadership on campus and within the college.
- Communicates positively and professionally in all aspects of the position.
- Attends all employee meetings, college meetings, and professional development activities.
- Becomes thoroughly familiar with all pertinent state and national policies and complies with said policies.
- Serves on and provides information to college committees as needed.
- Complies with ACCS and college policies, as well as state and federal laws.
- Ensures the positive promotion of the college and integration of all campuses within the college.
- Is prompt and punctual in reporting for work, meetings, and office hours.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
