About the RoleThe Project Engineer is assigned to identifying, developing and implementing engineering and system projects to improve plant condition, operability, reliability, cost, environmental and safety performance. The primary objective is to improve the value of all company assets through increased reliability and lower operating costs while allowing the equipment operation to meet production requirements within budget guidelines. Multiple projects must be managed simultaneously throughout the year.
WhatYou’ll Accomplish
- Review CAPEX project proposals, reports, recommendations and action plans prior to sending them out to plants to ensure completeness.
- Establish, maintain and update a technical database and library for projects and studies to share learnings.
- Prepare project‑engineering studies in collaboration with other sections to provide state‑of‑the‑art technology, best practice, long‑term and cost‑effective concepts and solutions.
- Conduct project‑planning activities for CAPEX justification, feasibility studies, evaluation of suppliers' quotations, and analysis of the financial stability of the project.
- Keep updated on new project management methodologies to remain aware of best available practices.
- Provide analytical and physical support in the manufacturing group through close monitoring and on‑site supervision of CAPEX projects to ensure execution according to design and scope.
- Prepare and review necessary drawings such as detailed and general arrangement layouts.
- Prepare and review a comprehensive technical cost estimate for project budgeting.
- Be responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating technical management.
- Ensure operations comply with design and specifications and that all construction operations are completed on schedule, within budget and to quality standards.
- Assist in supervising field engineers assigned to the project by assigning daily tasks, resolving employee relations/site issues, and interpreting construction drawings and specifications for trades.
- Participate in client/contractor meetings to resolve project issues, propose solutions to meet deadlines, and monitor related job costs.
- Assist in preparation of engineering project proposals by providing price analysis.
- Demonstrate commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies; promote a culture of safety.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s degree, 3–5 years of equivalent experience.
Field of Study: Civil Engineering, Mechanical, or Electrical.
Required
Work Experience:
3–5 years. Experience with cement, concrete, aggregates or other building materials is a plus.
Required Technical
Skills:
Excel, Work, SAP or similar ERP system experience.
Travel Requirements: Up to 10%.
Additional Requirements: Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize‑approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including respirators. Employees required to wear respirators must be clean‑shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to pass fit tests.
