CFO Advisor
Angott Search Group is pleased to partner with a leading credit union service organization in the search for a CFO Advisor.
This is a highly visible advisory role responsible for providing strategic financial leadership and accounting expertise to credit union and banking clients. Working closely with executive teams, this individual will serve as a trusted advisor on financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, regulatory compliance, and overall financial performance.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports for all assigned clients.
- Assist in developing, evaluating, and implementing policies and procedures for the accounting department.
- Ensure policies and procedures reflect current regulatory and GAAP requirements/standards.
- Responsible for financial reporting, financial analyses, cash management, and forecast reports in alignment with client timing requirements for all assigned clients.
- General ledger reconciliations, analysis of financial accounts, and preparation of journal entries. Provide end-of-month close and produce monthly financial statements for all assigned clients on a timely basis.
- Preparation of budgets and periodic analysis of budget variances for all assigned clients.
- Conduct special accounting studies, analyses, and special projects as requested by management.
- Manage calendars appropriately for client satisfaction and maximum availability.
- Track hours for billing and product profitability modeling.
Qualifications:
- B.A. in Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent and five years' related accounting/finance experience. CPA and/or MBA preferred but not required.
- 5+ years' experience working for financial institutions or equivalent experience.
- Fundamental knowledge of GAAP.
- Proficient with MS products. Expert-level Excel.
- Detail and deadline-oriented
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills are required.
- Thoroughness, excellent attention to detail, and good problem-solving skills are required.
- Ability to work independently and initiate several projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
