As an Engineering Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of the Engineering Department to ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient functioning of all hotel systems. This hands‑on leadership role is responsible for coordinating maintenance and repair activities, managing inventory, executing preventative maintenance programs, and providing technical expertise to resolve equipment issues. You will train and support department associates, uphold safety and regulatory standards, and respond promptly to guest service requests—all to ensure our property remains in exceptional condition.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership & Training: Collaborate with the Chief Engineer/Director to train and onboard new associates, ensuring they understand equipment, procedures, and daily hotel operations.
- Daily Operations & System Management: Oversee the maintenance and operation of all interior and exterior fixtures and mechanical equipment, ensuring compliance with PCH Hotels & Resorts standards.
- Inventory & Purchasing: Maintain accurate inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts. Process purchase requisitions as needed to ensure materials are available for timely repairs.
- Preventative Maintenance: Lead and manage the preventative maintenance program according to SOPs to maximize equipment life and operational efficiency.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to insurance requirements, as well as local, county, state, and federal codes and regulations.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Expertly diagnose system malfunctions, identify defects, and perform corrective repairs to restore equipment to optimal performance.
- Property Knowledge: Maintain a strong understanding of hotel layout, systems, staff operations, and service areas to support efficient and accurate work.
- Guest Service: Respond to guest maintenance calls with urgency and professionalism, resolving issues quickly to maintain guest satisfaction.
- Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance across electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, and painting systems to ensure reliability.
- Project Support: Assist with maintenance needs related to new construction or renovation projects, ensuring quality workmanship and smooth integration.
- Documentation: Keep detailed records of work performed, parts needed, and materials used for service requests and repairs.
- Communication: Maintain clear communication through pass‑down logs, whiteboards, and team coordination to ensure seamless department operations.
- Workspace Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Ensure tools are cleaned, stored, and returned to designated areas.
- Life Safety Systems: Demonstrate working knowledge of fire alarms, emergency generators, elevators, and all hotel safety procedures.
