BandS Machine Shop is hiring Conventional Machinists. We have been in business for over 40 years and offer stable employment to skilled machinists, from seasoned professionals to those starting their careers.

Job ResponsibilitiesThe full scope of this role includes setting up and operating a well‑equipped conventional lathe to produce parts such as shaft sleeves, shafts, couplings, flanges, and other cylindrical components. We work from drawings and use shop travelers for detailed directions.
Critical dimensions on parts may be as tight as .0005" while non‑critical dimensions may be as loose as .032", all while maintaining required surface finishes.
Products are machined from a wide variety of materials, most commonly 400 and 300 series stainless steel, but also a broad range of steels, bronzes, and occasionally plastic.
Required Tools- Personal tools such as dial indicators, hand wrenches, digital calipers, Allen wrenches (English and metric), non‑marring hammers, scribes, punches, edge/center finders, etc.
- Company‑provided micrometers and precision measuring tools that are calibrated and verified in house.
We work for heavy industry and commercial companies; we do not repair or make repair parts for the transportation industry. Good communication is essential. Our facility is air‑conditioned to reduce fatigue in the Sunny South.

Workday starts at 7:00 AM. 8:45 AM scheduled break, resume at 9:00 AM, lunch at 11:30 AM for 30 minutes, resume afternoon, final bell at 3:30 PM. 5 days a week, Monday through Friday. Overtime is available and sometimes required; cooperation is expected when overtime is needed.
