We work for heavy industry and commercial companies. We do not repair or make repair parts for the transportation industry.
Responsibilities- Setup and operate a well‑equipped conventional lathe to manufacture parts such as shaft sleeves, shafts, couplings, flanges and other cylindrically shaped parts.
- Work from drawings and use shop travelers for detailed directions.
- Ensure critical diameters as tight as .0005" and non‑critical dimensions as loose as .032", while maintaining required surface finishes.
- Use the micrometers and precision measuring tools provided by BandS; tools are calibrated and verified in‑house at regular intervals.
- Strong mechanical skills; experience in heavy industry or commercial manufacturing acceptable.
- Knowledge of 400 and 300 series stainless steel, a variety of steels and bronzes, and occasional plastics.
- Must be able to supply personal tools such as dial indicators, hand wrenches, dial/digital calipers, Allen wrenches (English and metric), non‑marring hammers, scribes, punches, edge/center finders, etc.
- Good communication skills.

The workday starts at 7:00 AM. We have a scheduled break at 8:45, lunch at 11:30 (30‑minute break), then resume until the "Final Bell" at 3:30. We normally work Monday‑through‑Friday; overtime is available and sometimes necessary to keep up with shipments and customer demands.
Located in the Sunny South, we keep our facility air‑conditioned to reduce fatigue and provide a comfortable work environment despite high outside temperatures.
