Assistant Manager

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day‑to‑day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns
• Organize transfer of merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process all corporate directives (Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey, etc.)
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store‑front fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise and processing damaged merchandise
• Record keeping: payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts; loss prevention
• Maintain a well‑stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Ensure associates follow safety guidelines and company policies
• Supervise, train, and develop store associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment for customers, associates, and leaders
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store: bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall presentation
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required
• Ability to work in a high‑energy, team environment required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required
