Summary
Job Description:
The Pre/After-School Instructor will work under the supervision of the Community Life Programs Coordinator (Site Coordinator) and the Community Life Programs Supervisor (Site Supervisor) to ensure the success and quality of the educational and human services programs offered at selected MHP’s affordable housing units located in Montgomery County. This part-time position is Monday-Thursday (3:45 pm to 6:00 pm. Starting rate: $22/hr.
- $ 35hr.
Primary Responsibilities:
Tutor small groups
Create learning goals for each student.
Evaluate the participants’ academic needs.
Supervise assistants and volunteers.
Prepare lesson plans for each age group.
Monitor their progress.
Write quarterly reports, when necessary
Meet with the program staff to discuss students' learning goals.
Inform the Community Life Programs Manager of any classroom concerns.
Attending parent meetings.
Work in collaboration with staff, students, and volunteers
Attend field trips and follow mandated procedures and guidelines.
Other Related Responsibilities:
Seeking support and guidance from the Site Manager as needed
Submit time sheets on time.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in elementary education, literacy, or reading.
Three years of experience working with elementary school children.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work with diverse communities.
Must be flexible and reliable.
Must have reliable transportation.
Able to supervise classroom personnel.
