Nurse Residency Coordinator

White Oak Medical Center – Adventist Health Care

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate scheduled experiences and learning opportunities for nurse residents.
  • Collaborate with managers, preceptors and educators in the orientation process for new residents.
  • Coach and support development of new residents as they progress through the residency program.
  • Meet regularly with residents, managers and preceptors to assess professional development and progression in RN role.
  • Administer the national Vizient Nurse Residency survey at prescribed intervals.
  • Develop and implement monthly classroom learning.
  • Plan and coordinate events such as resident pinning and graduation.
  • Oversee resident DMAIC project completion.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
  • Master’s degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Five years in acute care nursing.
  • One year in supervisory experience preferred.
  • Certification in Nursing area of specialty, nursing leadership or professional development once eligible.
  • Experience in education preferred.
