We are seeking an ELL teacher who is enthusiastic about providing instruction to students. Candidates should be professional educators with a proven track record of serving as a resource to teachers in educating ELL students.
Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred.
- Identify and screen bilingual students for the appropriate placement in a bilingual program.
- Complete the required state and district paperwork on ELL students.
- Monitor the language and academic progress of individual ELL students and provide building administrators with updates.
- Serve as a resource to classroom teachers in modifying lessons for ELL students.
- Serve as a communication link between school and home.
- Participate in building teams and identifying the special needs of ELL students.
- Provide training and supervision to aides and volunteers serving ELL students.
- Coordinate/provide building in-service on English Language Learners.
- Provide direct instruction to students.
- Valid Illinois teaching certificate with Bilingual Approval or Endorsement preferred.
- Reports directly to the Principal and/or designee.
School calendar as annually adopted by the Board of Education – 180‑day school calendar.
Salary and benefits as defined within the teachers' contract and salary schedule.
Start DateNew Hire Orientation:
August 3 and August 4, 2026. Optional Staff Training, but highly encouraged:
August 5, 2026 (8 am–3 pm) and August 6, 2026 (8 am–2 pm). Teacher Institute:
August 17 and August 18, 2026 (8 am–3 pm). First Day of School:
August 19, 2026.
Work hours are 8 am–3 pm, Monday–Friday, except on days when there are staff meetings, mentoring meetings, or committee meetings, which go until 4 pm. Late hours for parent/teacher conferences, Parent Literacy or Math Nights, and 8th Grade Graduation are required.
Job Type and CompensationFull‑time. Salary: $52,002 – $70,498 per year, dependent on years of experience. The District will give up to 10 years of credit for experience.
Stipends and OpportunitiesOpportunities are available for after‑school tutoring and summer school at a rate of $55.00 an hour.
Potential opportunity for coaching and club sponsor ships, which are stipend positions per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Individuals who provide translation throughout the school will receive a $600.00 stipend per year.
Individuals with an ESL endorsement receive a one‑time stipend of $2000.00.
