Center Director
Apple Tree Dental is a nationally recognized, innovative non-profit group practice committed to delivering comprehensive, high-quality dental care to patients of all ages and abilities. We serve communities both at our Centers for Dental Health and through mobile and on-site services in long-term care and assisted living facilities, Head Start centers, group homes, and schools.
The Center Director is to provide program leadership and sustainability by fostering strong working relationships and productivity within the clinical and support team members, while actively managing our facility relations with community collaborative sites and partners. To successfully provide clinical dental services as described in the appropriate clinical job description, if applicable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct clinical dental services, the clinical practice of dental providers (dentists and hygienists), and the delivery of dental services in health department clinics, correctional facilities, and community field-based programs; consult with primary care leadership and other healthcare representatives involved with integrating oral health with whole body health to benefit clients.
- Perform HR functions including, but not limited to:
- Recruitment and orientation
- Foster employee engagement, relations and retention, policy interpretation, approving time off requests, effectively resolve employee issues and concerns, employee recognition, and monitoring turnover rates
- Performance management: conducting performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and terminations as necessary
- Collaborate with Office Manager, Regional Director and/or others as appropriate on daily operations, such as; scheduling conflicts, patient experiences, coaching and development, growth, statistical/financial reports and regulatory compliance.
- Routinely assess program financials, actuals to budget, to ensure program goals are being met and/or costs are being covered, including approval of equipment request purchases in collaboration with Regional Director, and monitoring the Veterans Home budget, if applicable
- Actively build and maintain positive facility relations to prospective and current community collaborative sites, including, but not limited to, responding to the initial contact, facilitating the service agreement process, liaison training and ongoing patient and/or customer contact
- Assist in planning, implementing and integrating local programs and objectives related to special projects/grants, presentations, and events with overall company programs and initiatives by working with the appropriate leadership team members as necessary, including, but not limited to, Regional Director, Chief Operating Officer, Development/Innovations, Communications/Marketing, HR, and IS/IT
- Work with Regional Director and Office Manager to develop, maintain and update program policies, procedures and forms consistently across the organization
- Review health plan/network participation requests to determine if we should participate as a whole organization
- Attend, coordinate and/or lead various meetings and or committee assignments
- Develop, administer, assist, and monitor budgets; develop justifications for budgetary recommendations and/or adjustments; participate in forecasting additional funds for staffing and resources; identify, obtain, and manage funding from grants and community partners; participate in the interpretation, negotiation, management, and enforcement of contracts; coordinate the finalization of budgets to ensure timely submission of the department budget.
