Production Supervisor - East Production - Welding​/Calibration​/Liquid and Powder Paint​/Forklift

Job Description

The Production Supervisor is responsible for effective personnel management to maximize production output and deliver products to customer expectations. Participates in scheduling production and ensures adherence to production schedule. 95% tactical activities (moment to 2 weeks) / 5% strategic (2 weeks – 2 years).

• Direct team personnel assignments to ensure the accomplishment of daily production metrics.
• Champion employee involvement/engagement to motivate the collective team.
• Instruct, train, orient, motivate and otherwise assist employees so that safety, quality, and productivity goals are achieved.
• Identify and cultivate leaders within lines and teams.
• Participate in the selection/interview process to fill open positions and appraise employee performance.
• Keep employees informed of the company rules and regulations, production, and quality expectations.
• Handle personnel administration including approving time off and policy enforcement.
• Serve as a leader of the area’s daily production plan and be the primary go-to person for day-to-day priorities (SO, MRD & Projects).
• Understand area processes & key components that drive efficiency and effectiveness.
• Keep parts and processes flowing smoothly.
• Identify labor issues and production problems, make recommendations, and assist management in developing a corrective action plan.
• Engage and direct daily production operations and anticipate production problems, (i.e., material shortages, equipment malfunctions, rush orders, etc.) such that production & quality objectives are achieved.
• Utilize team skills, work hours, materials, and workflow to achieve production and quality objectives, exchange timely information with other supervisors on interdepartmental product flow and workforce needs.
• Collaborate and mentor peers to ensure consistency in operating methods.
• Adjust on-the-fly to changes in parts and people availability and promote the same adaptability in the team.

Skills: Personnel Management and Leadership. Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Dayforce, KBM, Vault, and MS Office. Ability to persuade individuals and teams to accomplish small and large goals. Mechanical aptitude to understand technical product and processes.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Lifting is not a routine requirement for this role.
• Able to wear eye protection, safety-toed shoes, and ear protection during entire shift.

Salary Range: $54,000.00 - $81,000.00
