As our CNC Press Brake Setup Technician, you’ll start your day reviewing prints, planning bend sequences, and dialing in tooling so every component leaves the cell to spec. A day in the roleYou’ll prepare the press brake for the day’s mix of jobs, confirming tooling, backgauge settings, and bend allowances. With drawings in hand, you’ll organize bend sequences to minimize handling and ensure consistence across runs. Throughout production, you’ll verify tolerances, adjust programs and tooling as needed, and keep the machine performing at its best. Along the way, you’ll collaborate with teammates to streamline flow and uphold a safe, orderly workspace.
Coreresponsibilities
- Set up and operate press brake equipment to form sheet metal to specified dimensions and angles.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to establish bend sequence, tooling, and dimensions.
- Inspect finished parts and validate tolerances; make on-the-spot adjustments to maintain quality.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs to ensure optimal machine performance and safety.
- Partner with the production team to improve processes and increase throughput.
- Follow safety procedures and sustain a clean, organized workstation.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional manufacturing or machining training is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience operating and setting up a press brake or related metal fabrication equipment.
- Solid knowledge of metal forming practices and press brake operations.
- Fluent in reading technical drawings and documentation.
- Strong attention to detail with effective problem-solving abilities.
- Comfort working independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiar with manufacturing safety standards and best practices.
