Overview

This position supports the overall mission of MVAC’s Head Start program by helping create high-quality, responsive, respectful, and safe work and learning environments. The role is responsible for overseeing assigned site operations, supporting staff, ensuring program compliance, and building positive professional relationships with families, community partners, coworkers, and supervisors.

Essential Functions
  • Manage overall operations of assigned Head Start sites to support safe, respectful, and high-quality learning environments.
  • Provide regular supervision, coaching, and support to assigned site staff, including training, observations, and performance appraisals.
  • Ensure assigned sites follow MVAC policies, Head Start Program Performance Standards, and Minnesota DCYF child care center statutes and rules.
  • Support staff in integrating services and implementing program expectations consistently across assigned sites.
  • Maintain professional working relationships with families, community partners, coworkers, and supervisors.
  • Communicate staff expectations clearly and address concerns using effective organizational, leadership, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Complete required documentation, reports, and data entry accurately and within established timelines in accordance with program requirements and protocols.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in management and supervision.
  • Knowledge of Head Start Program Performance Standards and Minnesota child care licensing requirements preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organization, leadership, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and support staff in integrating services within the program.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with families, staff, supervisors, and community partners.
