Job Description

The Social Media / Event Coordinator supports the Office of Student Success by promoting programs, services, and campus engagement initiatives through digital platforms and event coordination.

Responsibilities
  • Creating, scheduling, and publishing content for official Fairmont State Student Success social media accounts.
  • Monitoring and responding to engagement (comments, messages, tags) in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintaining a social media content calendar aligned with institutional priorities.
  • Assisting with planning, promoting, and executing Student Success and campus-wide events.
  • Capturing photos and video content at events for marketing and outreach purposes.
  • Supporting website updates and digital communication efforts.
  • Collaborating with campus partners and student organizations toshare relevant content.
  • Performing general clerical duties including data entry,answering phones, and preparing materials.
  • Ensuring compliance with Fairmont State University branding, communication standards, and Code of Conduct.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and social media platforms.
  • Ability to handle responsibilities in accordance with FERPA and confidentiality standards.
