Job Overview
Serves as a flight instructor for Fairmont State University.
- Will teach flight lessons according to the Fairmont State Part 141 syllabus, including all policies and procedures associated with record keeping.
- Will instruct on the simulator.
- Will be responsible for pre‑ and post‑flight briefings.
- Will report all aircraft problems immediately upon discovery.
- Will keep safety of student and instructor as the top priority and make decisions accordingly with regard to weather, student knowledge, and abilities, and other external factors.
- Will adhere to schedule as posted by Program Manager and Chief Flight Instructor.
- Assist with recruiting activities, including some travel to regional schools and events.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings.
- Instructors must have FAA‑approved CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) or CFII (Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument) ratings.
Work schedule may include evenings and weekends.
Location and ReportingEmployment location:
Aviation Center of Excellence, Bridgeport. Position reports to Chief Flight Instructor and Program Manager.
