Job Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for LEAD Center daily operations and oversight of the front desk area.
* Ensure a welcoming, organized, professional and positive first impression to students, faculty/staff, and visitors.
* Welcome and direct students as they arrive whether for 1:1 appointments with tutors, study groups or for testing assistance.
* Manage tutor schedules and make changes/updates as necessary (e.g. resolve appointments when a tutor has to call of sick).
* Conduct needs assessments and maintain a working knowledge of tutors to effectively refer students to the appropriate tutor or staff.
* Manage email (ingoing and outgoing) correspondence in a timely manner.
* Able to educate the University community and prospective students on the services provided by the LEAD Center.
* Perform various clerical tasks, including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and maintaining office supplies. Provide general administrative support (filing, scanning, photocopying) as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
* Communication
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with a diverse range of people including students, faculty/staff, and visitors.
* Customer Service Orientation:
Strong customer service skills to handle inquiries and resolve issues as necessary.
* Organizational
Skills:
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and maintain a well-organized workspace.
* Technical Proficiency:
Familiarity with office software and equipment, including Navigate and Canva.
* Interpersonal
Skills:
Friendly and approachable demeanor, capable of building rapport with visitors and LEAD center tutors and staff. Able to remain calm when under stress. Adaptable to changing needs of the LEAD Center.
* Confidentiality:
Handle sensitive materials and student information with sensitivity and privacy. (Knowledge of FERPA.)
