Responsibilities
The Percussion Coach will assist the Band Director in managing and running the band program, including teaching percussion sectionals and working with the university percussion musicians in a small‑group setting.
The Percussion Coach must also be prepared to assist with on‑field instruction regarding instrumental performing and marching technique and must be available during Fairmont State University’s 2026 Band Camp in August to fulfill some of the contracted hours and be able to attend periodic university band rehearsals throughout the Fall and Spring semester to fulfill the remainder of the contracted hours.
Preferred QualificationsThe successful candidate must have a proven history of successful percussion instruction.
Special Conditions / AvailabilityCandidate must be available August 3‑14, where the majority of the allocated hours will occur. This position has a max of fifty (50) hours for a period between July 1, 2026 and June 30, 2027.
Candidate must also be available for most if not all Marching Band Sectional Saturdays, scheduled for:
August 22, August 29, September 19, October 10, and November 14, 2026. Spring Semester Sectional Saturdays will be scheduled at a time of mutual convenience.
