Description ofJob Duties and Responsibilities
AIMSS mentor will work with students, one‑on‑one and in groups, to support students’ goals related to academics, college experience, and life planning. Mentors engage with students in various settings on campus and in the community, assist in the assessment of students’ support needs and creation of person‑centered plans, design and implement intervention strategies, and evaluate student progress and outcomes on a routine basis.
Mentors work in collaboration with one another, interns and graduate assistants from other departments, staff members, and departments across campus to build relationships and programming that best support students’ needs.
Skills and abilities
needed for this position:
Knowledge related to individuals with disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder; outstanding organization and communication skills; ability to maintain confidentiality; flexible ability to respond to a variety of individual needs of students with autism.
Student appointment length:
Academic Year
Base hourly rate: $10.00 - $15.00
