Job Description

Job duties include, but are not limited to, all lifting, health, personal care, and transportation responsibilities for students.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must meet all required qualifications and competencies pursuant to W. Va. Code.
  • Due to the additional requirements for meeting ECCAT qualifications, overall seniority outside the classification may not be the determining factor when selecting the most qualified applicant. Preference shall be given in the following order:
    • Those who currently hold an ECCAT classification and are employed as an ECCAT for Hardy County Schools (if multiple applicants fall within this category then selection will be based upon ECCAT seniority)
    • Those employed by Hardy County Schools that previously held ECCAT Classification
    • Those employed by Hardy County Schools as an Aide who have completed the requirements for ECCAT classification by date of posting (if multiple applications fall within this category, and no applicants fall within the categories listed above, then selection will be based upon Aide seniority)
    • Those employed by Hardy County Schools as an Aide who have not yet completed the requirements for ECCAT classification by date of posting, but are willing to complete said requirements for ECCAT classification that result in Pk - 3 endorsement (if multiple applications fall within this category, and no applicants fall within the categories listed above, then selection will be based upon Aide seniority)
    • Those employed by Hardy County Schools in another area of service classification willing to complete the requirements for ECCAT classification that result in Pk - 3 certification and endorsement
  • Criminal background check may be required as appropriate.
  • Complete all required county and WVDE trainings.
  • Will include all lifting, health, personal care and transportation responsibilities.
  • The ability to perform the job duties and responsibilities as contained in the Job Description, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Minimum Requirements
  • Applicants who have recent unsatisfactory evaluations will not be eligible for consideration.
  • Applicants who demonstrate unsatisfactory interview performance are not eligible for consideration.
  • Applicants who receive unfavorable reference recommendations are not eligible for consideration.
  • Applicants who have been dismissed or who have had their contracts non-renewed for cause are not eligible for consideration.
Schedule and Compensation

Start Date:

School Year

Contract Days: 200‑day contract beginning the  school year

Start Time:
Approximately 7:30 a.m.

End Time:
Approximately 3:30 p.m.

Start and End Time are subject to change based upon transportation duties

Salary:
Based on the  salary scale commensurate with experience and education
