This position can't be filled until the regular position has been posted without certified applicants. This position will not be considered if there is a certified applicant for the regular position. This position will only be filled with a long-term substitute if a qualified candidate is not secured for the regular position OR if the successful applicant for the regular position is unable to assume the position.
Contract will be terminated upon hire of regularly employed personnel during the 2026
-2027 School Year, if the position is no longer posted due to lack of need, or the  School Year concludes.
This position is for the  School Year only.

Qualifications:

• West Virginia Professional Teaching Certificate
  • Certified to Teach:
    Chemistry (2700)
• Successful completion of the Hardy County interview process
• Complete all required county and WVDE trainings
• The ability to perform the job duties and responsibilities as contained in the Job Description, with or without reasonable accommodations

  Minimum Requirements:
  • Applicants who have recent unsatisfactory evaluations will not be eligible for consideration.
  • Applicants who demonstrate unsatisfactory interview performance are not eligible for consideration.
  • Applicants who receive unfavorable reference recommendations are not eligible for consideration.
  • Applicants who have been dismissed or who have had their contracts non-renewed for cause are not eligible for consideration.

Start Date:  School Year ONLY
Contract Days: 200-day contract beginning the  School Year ONLY
Salary: Based on the  salary scale - commensurate with experience and education
