NOTICE OF VACANCY EXTRA-CURRICULAR PROFESSIONAL POSITION POSITION TITLE

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Successful applicant will complete all designee assignments for Special Education Programming. (See Below)
DESIGNEE ASSIGNMENTS
  • Serve as a liaison and initial point of contact between Board Office and school administration, staff, and students regarding Special Education needs and requirements. Ensure communication with special education staff.
  • Assist in assuring compliance with all provisions of Policy 2419.
  • Serve as a communication link between special education and general education.
  • Coordinate the initial and re-evaluation EC process within the school, including preparation for, attending, and facilitating initial eligibility meetings for K-12 and triennial review meetings when assigned by the director.
  • Review IEPs and provide guidance to the special education teacher for correction of errors within the IEP for grades K-12
  • Maintain the confidential materials and records of students receiving special education services.
  • Ensure that completed paperwork is sent to the Central Office Department of Special Education in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with the principal and teachers to coordinate IEPs and attend/ facilitate IEP meetings K-12 when assigned by the Director.
  • Work closely with the principal and Guidance Department to coordinate student schedules and schedule changes/adjustments and assist with the master schedule.
  • Facilitate the distribution and collection of special education information as needed.
  • Work with school administration in scheduling of teaching duties to ensure the meeting of students' needs perIEPsand assignment of caseloads.
  • May serve, when assigned, as administration designee for IEP and EC meetings.
  • Assist Special Education teachers in meeting all timelines, completion of school records and reports, and submission of Medicaid billing.
  • Monitor, with the student's special education teacher, the use of modifications as identified in the IEP as verified with a log. Verify that proper test accommodations are reported and carried out during state testing.
  • Complete file reviews as a team in the schools.
  • Assist with PreK to Kindergarten transitions.
  • Conduct student observations when assigned by the director.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or the Director of Special Education.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Valid WV teaching certificate in special education required.
  • Administration endorsement preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of Policy 2419.
  • Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience required.
  • Minimum of three years of successful special education teaching experience in WV preferred.
EFFECTIVE DATE
  • August 17, 2026 @ 3 pm
SALARY
  • Hourly rate of $25 for up to 100 hours per month, not to exceed allotted grant amount.
