- TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: School Year and thereafter; 200 Days (10 Additional Days if needed); 7:30-3:30 or as determined by Principal.
- TOTAL COMPENSATION:Salary based on experience and education level per PCBOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.

- QUALIFICATIONS:
- Meet minimum standards for certification as set forth by the West Virginia State Board of Education in minimum standards for the licensure of West Virginia School Personnel for the subject and grade level assigned.
- Good evaluations and/or recommendations from professional associates, employers, and/or supervisors.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, school personnel, and parents, community partners, and an ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Ability to motivate students and get them excited about learning.
- Applicants who have unsatisfactory evaluations in the past year will not be considered eligible for consideration; applicants who demonstrate unsatisfactory interview performance are not eligible for consideration; and applicants who receive unfavorable reference recommendations will not be eligible for consideration. Additional minimum requirements for applicants not currently employed: applicants who have been dismissed or who have had their contracts non-renewed for cause by another school district are not eligible for consideration;
the ability to perform the job duties and responsibilities of the position as contained in the job description, with or without reasonable accommodation. - Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Holds or is eligible for a valid West Virginia Professional Teaching Certificate with appropriate WV Certification in Family & Consumer Science 7-12.
- Possesses effective classroom management, communication, and instructional skills.
- Implements the assigned program of study.
- Fosters a classroom climate conducive to learning.
- Utilizes instructional management systems that increase student learning and maximize time on tasks.
- Monitors student progress toward achieving instructional objectives and goals.
- Communicates effectively within the educational community and with parents on a regular basis.
- Meets professional responsibilities.
- Maintains and upgrades professional skills.
- Maintains professional work habits.
- Promotes and maintains positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships.
- Adheres to the teacher's code of conduct.

- Develop and implement coursework in food preparation, nutrition, wellness, parenting, family studies, consumer sciences, and career development.
- Provide instruction in Parenting and Strong Families courses in accordance with West Virginia requirements and student enrollment opportunities.
- Collaborate with Career and Technical Education (CTE) instructors to support career pathways and workforce readiness.
- Serve as advisor and/or teacher leader for Educators Rising and other student leadership organizations.
- Support Grow Your Own educator initiatives in collaboration State Board of Education/Eastern Community College.
- Provide instruction and course work through CTE to produce Early Childhood Classroom Assistant Teacher (ECCAT) certification for students.
