Job Responsibilities:
The Student Success Coach is a professional educator who specializes in providing one-on-one or small group instruction to Third and Fourth Grade students outside of regular school hours. This type of "coaching" is designed to supplement the education that students receive during the school day and can be especially beneficial for students who are struggling with literacy concepts/skills or who need extra support to reach their full academic potential.
The role of the Student Success Coach is to work with Third and Fourth Grade students to identify their individual learning needs and goals, and to develop and implement a customized instruction plan to help them achieve those goals. This may involve reviewing and reinforcing classroom material, providing additional literacy-rich resources and materials while fostering problem-solving and critical thinking through reading comprehension, text analysis, and written expression.
Student Success Coach Responsibilities & Duties:
- Provide individual and small group tutoring sessions to students in 3rd and 4th Grade
- Assist students with developing and refining literacy concepts / skills
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with WVCCR ELA Standards
- Evaluate student progress and provide regular feedback to parents & guardians and classroom teachers
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other teachers to support student success
- Maintain a positive and organized learning environment that fosters student engagement and motivation
Salary:
Compensation will be at a rate of $45.00 per hour for 3 hours per week (2 days per week) which also includes planning and preparing for a maximum of 28 weeks [6 weeks / 9 weeks / 9 weeks / 4 weeks] Funding Source:
