Travel RN - Med​/Surg Tele

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown/Med Surg position requiring at least 3 years of experience, ACLS certification, and the ability to work 12-hour night shifts.

Job Details

• Acute care setting in a Stepdown/Med Surg unit with 20 beds,

• Patient population includes respiratory issues, weakness, UTI, AKI, and chest pain,

• Stepdown ratio is 1:3;
Med Surg floor ratio is 1:5-6, with 2 nursing aides per shift,

• RNs are required to titrate drips including Heparin, insulin, Cardizem, and amiodarone,

• Respiratory therapy equipment in use includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen,

• Telemetry is monitored remotely at Ruby (monitor techs off-site),

• EMR:
Epic,

• 12-hour night shifts,

• 3 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule,

• Holiday rotation required (evening or day),

Job Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license required,

• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA) and ACLS,

• Minimum 3 years of RN experience required,

• Stepdown unit experience required,

• A valid, unexpired driver's license is required for consideration,

• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position,

Additional Information

• Royal blue scrubs required,

• Unit-specific orientation is provided,

• No on-call or standby requirement,

• No floating requirement,

• Travelers who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before applying; cumulative experience applies and travelers may not work within the WVU system for longer than one year total before a 2-year break is required,

• Candidates may only be submitted to one WVU facility at a time,
