Cybersecurity, Systems Engineer
Primary Duties
- Design, implement, and maintain reliable, secure, and scalable network infrastructure
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Sonic Wall firewalls, including VPNs, security policies, and threat management
- Install, configure, and support Cisco switches, including VLANs, routing, QoS, and switch stacking
- Monitor network performance, availability, and security, proactively addressing issues
- Lead network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvement projects
- Troubleshoot complex network issues across LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN environments
- Collaborate with systems, security, and application teams to ensure network alignment with business needs
- Create and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership
- Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices
- Participate in on‑call rotation and provide after‑hours support as needed
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field of study
- 7 or more years of hands‑on network engineering experience in enterprise environments
- Proven experience with Sonic Wall firewalls (configuration, management, and troubleshooting)
- Strong experience with Cisco switches (Catalyst, Nexus, or similar)
- In‑depth knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP preferred), and VPN technologies
- Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills

Salary at GST is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract‑specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $85,000 to $105,000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of the GST total compensation package for employees.
