Position: Public Notice - Information Technology Specialist (Direct Hire)

Summary

As an IT Specialist in the IV&V Program, you will provide technical support for mission‑critical flight/ground systems, software, and information technology products and solutions. You will also deliver cyber/mission protection services and develop and test software applications, simulations, digital twins, and AI‑based solutions to advance the program’s capabilities.

Duties
  • Provide end‑user support services for IT systems, software, and applications.
  • Conduct software simulations, testing, or related technical analyses to verify system behavior.
  • Develop lifecycle work products, including requirements, design, code, simulations, and test assets for software applications, digital twins, test software, IT systems, and technology products.
  • Design and develop artificial intelligence‑based solutions to enhance software development activities or assurance services.
  • Perform technical analysis of lifecycle work products to assess cybersecurity or mission‑protection controls.
  • For supervisory positions, assign and evaluate work, recommend personnel actions, take disciplinary actions, and identify training needs.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position, typically in or related to this line of work.

To qualify at each grade, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the specified level:

  • GS‑7 – Basic technical analysis, end‑user support services, software development, simulation and test, or cybersecurity/AI related efforts.
  • GS‑9 – Basic technical analysis, end‑user support services, software development, simulation and test, or cybersecurity/AI related efforts.
  • GS‑11 – Technical analysis, software development, simulation and testing, cybersecurity, AI efforts, or end‑user support services; produce technical work products and apply technical judgment under supervision.
  • GS‑12 – Complex technical systems analysis, systems/software development, simulation and testing, cybersecurity/mission protection, AI efforts, or end‑user support services; produce technical work products and apply technical judgment to resolve technical issues independently with limited supervision.

Must also have IT‑related experience in the competencies listed in the How You Will Be Evaluated section.

Promotion Potential

Full performance level varies based on the position in which the selectee is placed.
