American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring strong circulating experience in total joints and ENT cases.
Details- Acute care setting within a hospital Operating Room unit consisting of 1 suite with 4 OR rooms
- Case volume varies by service line, with total joints and ENT cases in fall 2026 transitioning to urology, podiatry, hand-ortho, plastics, and pacemaker cases in January 2027
- Uses Epic (OpTime) EMR
- Day shift schedule rotating between 6:30am-3:00pm and 8:30am-5:00pm every 2-4 weeks, plus a rotating stay-late schedule
- No night, weekend, holiday, or call requirements
- If scheduled for stay-late, must remain until cases are finished
- No floating required at this time
- Scrubbing not required for RNs
- Supported by house supervisors scheduled 24 hours a day and an on-site charge nurse
- Team includes 6 surgical techs, 4 PCS roles, and 2 anesthesia techs
- Active WV or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
- Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
- Strong circulating experience in total joints and ENT required
- Circulating experience across most incorporated service lines required
- BSN not required for this position
- Provide circulating RN support across a variety of surgical service lines in a newly opening OR
- Surgical scrubs (light blue) are provided; OR-dedicated shoes, OR hat, and mask are required
- Unit-specific orientation consists of 2 days
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel candidacy
- Local candidates residing within the radius are not eligible for this position
- Cancellation policy allows for 2 shifts per 13-week contract
- Returning travelers must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying to any WVU Medicine location
- Travelers cannot work within WVU Medicine for longer than a year without taking a required 2-year break
- All candidates interview directly with the unit manager
