Position Overview
The Associate Pastor of Worship & Students will provide leadership to two vital and growing areas of ministry: corporate worship and student ministry (junior and senior high).
This role is designed for a leader-builder—someone who not only leads effectively but is passionate about developing others. In both worship and student ministry, a high level of intentional investment, mentoring, and leadership development is expected.
In addition, this pastor will contribute to the overall life and ministry of the church through pastoral care, guest engagement, and team collaboration.
Who We Are Looking For- Has a clear and credible testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a confirmed call to ministry
- Is theologically grounded and committed to continued growth and development
- Meets (or is working toward) the biblical qualifications for pastoral leadership (1 Timothy 3; Titus
1) - Brings ministry experience and understands the rhythms and responsibilities of church leadership
- Is humble, teachable, and willing to serve wherever needed
- Thrives in a team environment and values unity with staff and congregation
- Lead the planning and execution of Christ-centered, engaging Sunday worship services
- Develop and disciple a growing team of volunteers including vocalists, instrumentalists, and AVL team members
- Foster a culture of excellence, participation, and spiritual engagement in corporate worship
- Coordinate rehearsals, special services, and events such as weddings and funerals
- Provide oversight of worship-related resources, systems, and budget
- Serve as staff liaison to existing music ministries, including the senior adult choir
- Build a comprehensive, gospel-centered ministry to junior and senior high students
- Teach regularly and provide leadership for both Sunday morning and Sunday evening student gatherings
- Invest in students spiritually while equipping parents as primary disciple-makers
- Develop meaningful rhythms of discipleship, fellowship, and mission (camps, trips, events, etc.)
- Recruit, train, and support a team of committed and qualified volunteers
- Maintain consistent communication with families and the broader church
- Lead with intentionality—prioritizing depth and impact over busyness
- Stay informed on cultural and generational trends to effectively engage the next generation
- Participate in staff meetings, leadership teams, and church-wide gatherings
- Serve in pastoral care opportunities such as visitation and guest follow-up
- Contribute to the broader mission of the church in a flexible, team-oriented way
- Occasionally assist in preaching, as needed
