Music & Arts seeks a Fretted Instruments Teacher to provide engaging private and group lessons on guitar, bass, ukulele, and related instruments in our retail lesson studios. You'll create individualized lesson plans, teach technique and music theory, track student progress, and communicate regularly with parents. Working closely with store staff, you'll support lesson enrollment, retention, and recitals while contributing to a student-focused, community-driven culture that champions music education and performance growth.

Responsibilities

  • Provide private and group lessons for guitar, bass, ukulele, and other fretted instruments to students of all ages and levels
  • Develop individualized lesson plans aligned with student goals and Music & Arts teaching standards
  • Assess student progress and provide clear feedback to students and parents/guardians
  • Prepare students for recitals, performances, and school ensemble participation
  • Collaborate with store staff to support lesson scheduling, retention, and new student enrollment
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment in lesson studios
  • Incorporate music theory, technique, and ear training into instruction
  • Use store resources and technology (scheduling systems, POS, lesson platforms) effectively
  • Support Music & Arts events, workshops, and community outreach as needed
  • Care for and properly use lesson instruments and teaching materials
