Brass Teacher

Music and Arts seeks a Brass Teacher to provide engaging private and small-group brass lessons in our retail store. In this role, you will teach students of all ages and levels, focusing on sound technique, music literacy, and performance skills while supporting school band and orchestra programs. You'll create lesson plans, track progress, communicate with parents and educators, and help students select and care for instruments.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group brass lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels
• Develop and follow structured lesson plans aligned with student goals and school programs
• Demonstrate proper brass technique, tone production, and music reading
• Prepare students for performances, recitals, and school ensemble participation
• Communicate progress and recommendations to parents, students, and school partners
• Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment in the store
• Collaborate with store staff to support lesson enrollment and retention
• Advise students and families on appropriate instruments, accessories, and care
• Document attendance, progress notes, and scheduling changes accurately
• Support Music & Arts' mission to expand access to quality music education
