Job Overview

Takeda, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd, is looking for Medical Support Specialists (Plasma Center Nurses) to join our team in Fairview Heights, IL. This role is full‑time or part‑time with flexible shifts ranging from 30 minutes before opening to one hour after closing. • Monday:
  Closed
• Tuesday–Thursday: 6 AM – 7 PM
• Friday: 6 AM – 6 PM
• Saturday–Sunday: 7 AM – 3 PM

• Report to the Plasma Center Manager and work under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues.
• Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reaction(s) and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including Center Physician standing orders and transport to emergency care.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings, medical or technical issues, donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health or ER.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats in the local community.
• Follow guidance provided by Bio Life Medical Affairs and provide center‑level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).

• High school diploma or graduate equivalent from a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
• Licensed or certified in the state of assignment: LPN or LVN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Completed FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
• Knowledge of regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment.

Sign‑on bonus of $2,000 and day‑one benefits.
