Job Description
As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at Bio Life Plasma Services, you will report to the Plasma Center Manager and support the safe, efficient operation of the plasma collection center.
Key Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, and blood testing.
- Review Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE) and laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results.
- Manage donor adverse events and evaluate donor reactions in accordance with SOPs for medical emergencies.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues concerning donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health or emergency room protocols.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) to investigate local pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent; graduate of a recognized nursing program that meets state requirements.
- Licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities are performed:
Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA). - Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
- Meet state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Successfully complete the FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialists.
- Minimum two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
Hourly wage range: $33.44 - $45.98. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with employer match, short‑term and long‑term disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, holidays, and wellness programs. U.S. employees may receive up to 80 hours of sick time and up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
