Job Description
Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist / Programmer for a direct hire opportunity with a well-established manufacturing company in Portland, OR. This position is ideal for an experienced machinist with strong setup experience, advanced G-code knowledge, and the ability to improve machining processes and tooling strategies.
This is a day shift position working four 10-hour shifts Monday-Thursday.
$32-$40/hr DOE
Monday-Thursday | 5:30am-4:00pm
Direct Hire
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with the following:
• CNC horizontal mill setup and operation
• FANUC controls preferred
• Advanced G-code editing and troubleshooting
• Program prove-outs and process optimization
• Creating stable setups and improving run efficiency
• Blueprint reading and machine shop math
• Speeds, feeds, tooling selection, and fixture setup
• Precision inspection and quality verification
• Identifying and correcting machining issues proactively
• Process improvement in a production machining environment
Responsibilities:
• Setup and operate CNC machining equipment
• Prove out and troubleshoot new or existing programs
• Edit and optimize programs at the machine
• Analyze tooling, setups, and machining processes for improvement opportunities
• Verify dimensional accuracy using precision measuring tools
• Maintain quality standards and monitor machining performance
• Assist in improving setup consistency and machining efficiency
• Perform preventative maintenance and maintain clean, safe work areas
Qualifications:
• Strong CNC machining background required
• Advanced setup and troubleshooting experience required
• Strong understanding of G & M code
• Horizontal machining center experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints independently
• Strong understanding of tooling, offsets, and machining strategies
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
