Overview

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking experienced CNC Machinists for a direct hire opportunity with a long-standing manufacturing company in Portland, OR. These are full-time swing shift positions working Monday-Thursday with a 3-day weekend every week. Candidates will train on day shift before transitioning to swing shift. This role is ideal for machinists who take ownership of their work, understand setup and inspection processes, and can operate safely and independently in a production machining environment.

$28-$32/hr DOE + $1.24/hr Swing Shift Differential

Schedule:

Monday-Thursday, 4:00pm-2:30am. Direct Hire.

Ideal candidate possesses
  • CNC horizontal mill setup and operation
  • FANUC controls preferred
  • Editing programs at the machine
  • Proving out programs safely and efficiently
  • Blueprint reading and machine shop math
  • Understanding speeds, feeds, tooling, and offsets
  • Performing first article and in-process inspections
  • Using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and precision measuring tools
  • Identifying machining or quality issues proactively
  • Preventative maintenance and maintaining organized work areas
Responsibilities
  • Operate CNC machining equipment to meet daily production requirements
  • Verify tooling, setups, and program coordinates before production runs
  • Make program edits and tooling adjustments as needed
  • Inspect parts visually and mechanically for conformance to print
  • Monitor machine operation and detect improper machining conditions
  • Recommend tooling or process improvements to improve efficiency and quality
  • Load/unload materials and fixtures safely
  • Follow established safety and production procedures
Qualifications
  • Previous CNC machining experience required
  • Horizontal machining center experience strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of G & M code
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to work independently in a production environment
  • Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled shop environment
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs with assistance/lifting devices when needed
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
