The Senior Production Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and assigning the activities of production workers, ensuring that production targets are met, maintaining quality standards, and driving P&L results. This position supervises production operations within an assigned areas or during assigned shifts.
2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday Duties and Responsibilities- Supervises workers that operate production machinery, assemble items, perform quality control, or package goods for shipment.
- Schedule and assign tasks to workers, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Responsible for meeting or surpassing daily Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), with accurate reporting that consistently exceeds customer expectations.
- Responsible for workforce planning and manpower forecasting to align staffing levels with production goals and business objectives.
- Deliver clear and concise information during shift transition meetings, ensuring the next shift is prepared for success.
- Provide the next level of support for escalated issues during work shifts.
- Maintain consistent production quality by monitoring departmental performance metrics.
- Communicate effectively with management and customers to ensure SLAs are met and issues are promptly resolved.
- Engages in employee relations initiatives, promptly addressing and resolving employee concerns to maintain a positive work environment.
- Assists in P&L forecasting and analysis, alongside labor planning and scheduling.
- Prepare and administer daily performance feedback and reporting as required.
- Coordinates the flow of work through the department and ensures that department has sufficient levels of inventory to meet demand and is staffed appropriately.
- Provide training, motivation, and support to employees regarding company and departmental procedures, development opportunities, and departmental processes.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards to maintain a safe working environment for employees and visitors.
- All other duties assigned, based on the business the warehouse supports
- 4-5+ years of leadership experience, preferably in a high volume production environment.
- Capable problem-solving skills and decision-making capabilities, demonstrating a strategic approach with a focus on achieving results and fostering continuous improvement.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities, demonstrating effective verbal and written communication.
- Capacity to engage with customers in a professional manner.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- General knowledge of OSHA Standards.
- Previous experience working in a high-volume distribution, manufacturing, technical service (i.e. testing and repair) or forward logistics operation a plus.
- Supervising temporary staff.
- Experience working with UKG and Kronos.
- Ability to develop and articulate a clear strategic vision.
- Associate degree preferred or equivalent years of hands‑on experience.
