Position: Labourer (Reactive Maintenance)

We require a Labourer to provide a high quality and efficient service, carrying out all aspects of general repairs, such as installing loft insulation, cleaning gutters, installing rotary dryers, laying slabs, and supporting activities for core trades, in properties owned or managed by Link Group or within service agreements to other organisations. All undertakings must be in line with statutory requirements, regulatory and technical standards, customer expectations and organisational procedures.

The role includes participation on the on‑call rota.

About You

You’ll bring a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer care and take pride in ensuring a positive experience for tenants and colleagues alike. With proven experience in a similar labourer role, you’ll be confident supporting core trades in carrying out general repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks.

You’ll have hands‑on experience in carrying out repairs. Your sound knowledge of Health and Safety requirements, and understanding of relevant legislation, means you work safely and efficiently while keeping the needs of customers at the forefront. You’ll be proactive in taking responsibility for removing large items of rubbish and will liaise effectively with other agencies where required to get the job done.

A full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

Install loft insulation, clean gutters, install rotary dryers, lay slabs, support core trades, and carry out general repairs and maintenance tasks in line with statutory and organisational standards.

Qualifications
  • Strong commitment to delivering excellent customer care
  • Proven experience in a similar labourer role
  • Hands‑on experience carrying out repairs
  • Sound knowledge of Health and Safety requirements and relevant legislation
  • Proactive removal of large items of rubbish and effective liaison with agencies
  • Full UK driving licence
Additional Requirements

This role is subject to PVG membership under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Individuals who are barred from working with children or protected adults will not be considered for this position.
