Job Description
Administrative Assistant
The Administrative Assistant is a key coordinator throughout all programming managed throughout OSI. This position collaborates with the Senior Director and the rest of the staff to develop program budgets and monitors expenditures. The position is responsible for the oversight of $100,000+ budgets, and assists in the budget management for a variety of other accounts and budgets for the office, including overseeing all p-card processing.
This role is also responsible for outreach to students, the maintenance of the website and annual print media. The incumbent is the primary coordinator with event management and RTAC, and is responsible for coordination of OSI-managed spaces. The Administrative Assistant coordinates specific Weeks of Welcome programs, and is the program lead for OSI’s implementation of student employee training and development.
This role is responsible for undergraduate student employee training, as well as a co-leader in planning and implementing our graduate assistant training program. This position uses independent judgment in reviewing and approving student organization events. In addition, this position is the approver for the University Posting Policy, a portfolio of spaces managed by OSI, and oversees the student employee training and evaluation program.
Each staff member in the Division of Student Affairs is expected to support division and university-wide initiatives, staff events, and serve on committees as needed.
Hiring Range: $26.32/hr to $32.88/hr pay rate commensurate with relevant experience.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- At least 2 years of administrative support experience, preferably in higher education and including supervisory experience
- Understanding and supportive of the Jesuit Catholic mission of Boston College
- Demonstrated commitment to community engagement
- Ability to work collaboratively with students
- Excellent communication, leadership, judgment, managerial, organizational, interpersonal, and motivational skills
- Demonstrated financial management skills
- Experience in a position that clearly demonstrates the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students
- Ability to provide leadership and effective supervision of personnel and programs
- Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfort and ability in relating to students
