Position: Financial Office  Assistant

Family Service Association is seeking a passionate Full‑Time Financial Office Assistant to join our Guardianship Department.

This position is part‑time, 32 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The hourly rate starts between $17 and $19, depending on bilingual capacity and experience.

Sign‑on Bonus
: $1,000. Total compensation includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Respect the confidential nature of all program services and communications.
  • Assist with Representative Payee reports for the Social Security Administration.
  • Annual purging of client financial folders.
  • Assist with Mass Health application of Redeterminations.
  • Correspond with utility companies in connection with discharging service.
  • Correspond with the Social Security Office, pension companies, etc. at the time of death.
  • Assist with Fiduciary Report for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • General administrative and clerical duties.
  • Assist with preparation of Court Accounts.
  • Reconcile and file bank statements.
  • Answer client phone calls as needed.
  • Assist with bank runs to ensure deposits are made in a timely manner.
  • Respond to the reasonable expectations of the Guardianship/Representative Payee Financial Supervisor, Program Director, and/or Agency.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Comfortable working with numbers.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting skills and experience with Excel spreadsheets.

Must be able to successfully complete a MA State CORI check and CPS check.
