Position Summary
The Asset Management & Reliability Manager provides national-level leadership in the design, implementation, and oversight of asset management and reliability programs across a portfolio of facilities. This role ensures that condition and criticality assessments, CMMS governance, and structured improvement programs such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA) are consistently applied. The Manager balances technical knowledge with leadership, strategy, and communication—ensuring asset management practices deliver compliance, lifecycle value, and operational reliability.
Travel of approximately 50-75% is required to provide oversight, training, and alignment across the portfolio.
- Provide strategic leadership to establish and maintain reliability-focused asset management practices across all managed facilities.
- Mentor and coach employees at various levels on CMMS use, asset assessment methods, and reliability improvement practices.
- Build a culture of accountability, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement.
- Represent the Asset Management & Reliability function in corporate, client, and executive forums, ensuring alignment between reliability programs and business objectives.
- Direct and execute standardized condition assessments portfolio-wide on mechanical, electrical, structural, and process assets, using standardized rating scales.
- Document deterioration patterns, safety hazards, and compliance risks that affect lifecycle planning.
- Apply RCM thinking during inspections, identifying potential functional failures and recommending optimized maintenance strategies.
- Ensure data quality by validating asset tag numbers, hierarchy accuracy, and completeness in the CMMS.
- Lead criticality assessments to assign business risk rankings and prioritize assets for investment, maintenance, and monitoring.
- Analyze asset history and performance data to identify lifecycle risks and opportunities.
- Translate assessment findings into portfolio-wide strategies that support capital planning, optimization, and asset replacement.
- Lead structured RCA investigations for asset failures, compliance incidents, safety events, or recurring operational issues.
- Facilitate cross-site workshops to identify systemic causes and align corrective/preventive actions.
- Ensure all RCA outcomes and improvement measures are captured, tracked, and verified in the CMMS.
- Deliver trend reports that communicate lessons learned, systemic risks, and improvement initiatives to leadership and clients.
- Champion continuous improvement by embedding reliability-based practices into daily facility operations.
- Standardize asset hierarchies, PM libraries, and coding structures to support portfolio-wide reporting.
- Ability to train and certify users at multiple levels to ensure high-quality, accurate CMMS data entry.
- Verify that assessment outcomes, RCA findings, and action items are consistently uploaded into CMMS, establishing a single source of truth for decision-making.
- Prepare professional, data-rich reports for leadership and clients on asset conditions, risk profiles, and portfolio reliability.
- Translate technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations that inform business decisions.
- Lead portfolio-level review sessions to align reliability objectives with operations, capital planning, and client expectations.
- Provide executive-level reporting that demonstrates how asset management programs reduce risk, optimize cost, and extend asset lifecycle.
- Coordinate reliability and asset management initiatives across facilities, ensuring consistent application of corporate standards.
- Partner with facility managers, operations, engineering, and project management to embed reliability strategies into day-to-day operations.
- Serve as the central liaison between site-level staff and corporate leadership, ensuring lessons learned are shared portfolio-wide.
- Support procurement and investment decisions by providing lifecycle cost and risk-based input on asset selection.
- Consolidate site-level activities into the CMMS, ensuring portfolio transparency and alignment.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Asset Management, Reliability, or related discipline (preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in asset management, maintenance, or portfolio reliability management.
- Demonstrated leadership experience across multi-site or national operations.
- Strong expertise in asset criticality, RCA, and RCM methodologies.
- Advanced knowledge of enterprise-level CMMS systems, including governance and reporting.
- Proven skills in technical reporting, data analysis, and executive-level presentations.
- Excellent training, facilitation, and mentoring skills.
- Willingness to travel 50-75% nationally.
