ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Exercise discretion and judgment and apply project management principles to meet project challenges.
- Attend client meetings and assist with determination of project requirements.
- Assist the Project Manager (PM) in the drafting and issuance of project proposals, request for proposals, and preliminary schedules.
- Keep the PM and management informed about project status and issues that may impact client relations.
- Prepare project organization and communication charts.
- Track the progress and quality of work being performed by design disciplines and trades.
- Use project scheduling and control tools to monitor projects plans, work hours, budgets and expenditures.
- Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the client and project team.
- Review field inspection reports from Consultants throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Review and evaluate the merit of change orders for all projects and discuss them with the Project Manager.
- Monitor subcontractor progress including invoices.
- Work with the PM to identify staffing needs for projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Duties are largely performed in an office setting.
- Office work may include prolonged seated tasks, extended keyboarding, and use of computer screen.
- May be requested to work overtime and weekends.
- Position may require travel (expected to be less than 30%); valid driver’s license and acceptable DMV record required.
- The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use stairs, use hands, reach, talk and hear.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of project planning methodologies such as critical path planning.
- The ability to accurately review and complete detail-oriented information and projects.
- The ability to conceptualize and organize the project planning process.
- Advanced knowledge in the field of energy infrastructure.
- The ability to take responsibility and function under minimal supervision.
- Capacity to conduct and participate in meetings with senior management.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards.
- Goal and action oriented; takes project setbacks in stride, and acts on opportunities as they present themselves to add value to the project and the client.
- Must have excellent computer/internet skills and a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.
- Bachelor’s Degree with courses or educational credits in industry specific curriculum.
- 3-5 years of experience supporting Project Managers in the delivery of development projects.
- Experience with Microsoft Project a plus.
- CAPM certificate preferred.
