Academic Neurologist, Movement Disorders & General Neurology – Worcester, MA
Hiring Range: $180,000 - $320,000 (final offer may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations).
Position Overview:
The Department of Neurology at UMass Chan Medical School (UMMS) invites an academic clinician to contribute to a patient‑centered comprehensive Movement Disorders program. This role offers a faculty appointment at UMMS and membership on the medical staff at UMass Memorial Medical Center (UMMHC), providing access to advanced clinical care and world‑class research opportunities.
- Provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient movement disorders care within a collegial team of four MDs and an NP specializing in DBS programming.
- Participate in DBS planning during monthly interdisciplinary meetings with neurosurgery and neuropsychology.
- Perform DBS programming and inject botulinum toxin in the clinic.
- Engage trainees and medical students throughout the year in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Collaborate in teaching activities and contribute to the department’s research initiatives in RNA biology, gene expression, human gene therapy, quantitative health sciences, outcomes research, and translational programs.
- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- Fellowship in Movement Disorders.
