Senior Medical Director, Clinical Research (Neurology)
1. CompanyOur client is a well-established, global biopharmaceutical company with a multi-decade track record spanning oncology, urology, women's health, rare disease, and neuroscience. It has distinguished itself with a first-in-class, cell-based regenerative therapy now advancing through late-stage development in a major neurodegenerative disease — a signature scientific achievement in a historically difficult therapeutic category. The organization is investing meaningfully in both early- and late-stage neuroscience research as part of a broader, multi-year pipeline expansion.
2.The Role They Will Play
This role will lead clinical development strategy for a defined portfolio of neurology assets, including a stem cell-based regenerative-medicine program and additional early- and late-stage compounds. The successful candidate will own study design, medical monitoring, and cross-functional leadership from protocol concept through regulatory filing, across global, multi-site trials. Unlike a narrower medical monitor role, this position combines strategic authority with hands‑on scientific leadership of a multi-disciplinary, multi-regional team, and offers a clear path to broader therapeutic‑area or R&D leadership as the neurology pipeline matures.
We are looking for a board-certified or board-eligible neurologist with substantial pharmaceutical industry experience leading global clinical trials. Candidates should bring:
- Expertise in neurology clinical development, including both early- and late-stage global trial design, protocol development, and trial initiation.
- 5+ years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including experience as a Clinical Research Lead in the neurology therapeutic area.
- Exposure to regenerative cell medicine or gene therapy development programs (preferred).
- Working knowledge of FDA, GCP, and ICH regulations, with U.S. regulatory submission experience (Europe and Japan experience preferred).
- MD (or international equivalent), board certified or board eligible in neurology; fellowship training in epilepsy and prior pediatrics experience preferred.
