Full-Time Faculty - Environmental Technology (Clean Water/Drinking Water) (10 Month; Tenure-Track; Open Rank - Assistant Professor or Associate Professor)

Dean of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics
POSITION STATUS:
This is a full-time, tenure track, MCCC unit position with benefits. The title of this position will be Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor, depending on the selected candidate's experience.
LOCATION:
Fall River, but courses may also be offered in online, hybrid, or face-to-face modalities in Attleboro, New Bedford, and/or Taunton.

Academic Year
SALARY: $57,289 - $74,369 - actual salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience and consistent with the MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Environmental Technology - Full-time faculty position will teach a full-time (15 credit hours per semester) schedule of Environmental Technology and Environmental Science courses, which may include, but are not
limited to, the list found online in our Academic Catalog ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).). This position also develops curriculum/course material for the A.S. in Engineering Technology (Environmental) Program and offers student support through varied interactions. As part of our strategic goal to advance equity for underrepresented student populations, Bristol embraces and encourages the use of social justice, inclusive, and anti-racist pedagogies, and multicultural curricular initiatives.
Full-Time faculty will engage in a critical role in the teaching and learning process, contributing to student learning outcomes and success.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Teach a full-time (15 credit hours per semester) schedule of Environmental Technology and Environmental Science courses.
* Facilitate hands-on laboratory experiences with students in our Wastewater Treatment laboratory spaces/Blue Center for Water Treatment facilities.
* Assess student learning and assign grades through equitable and inclusive pedagogies and assessment strategies.
* Complete required trainings such as, but not limited to, Title IX, FERPA, and Information Security.
* Teaching in face-to-face as well as hybrid, and online modalities.
* Adhere to workload as specified in the Collective Bargaining Agreement, including duties such as, but not limited to, developing curricula to address course and student learning outcomes and General Education competencies as appropriate, completing book orders, creating syllabi, verifying student enrollment, and submitting final grades by the contractual deadline.
* Foster student success across the college's diverse student body, and address equity gaps, through innovative teaching and learning approaches as well as curriculum development.
* Incorporate High-Impact Practices (HIPs) into curricular and pedagogical approaches, with emphasis on HIPs that provide students with real-world experiences such as Service-Learning and internship opportunities.
* Serve as academic advisor to assigned students.
* Post and maintain a minimum of four (4) office hours per week.
* Develop appropriate discipline-related courses.
* Serve on college committees as elected or appointed.
* Attend program, department, academic area, all-college and committee/council meetings.
* Recommend suitable instructional material, textbooks, and library acquisitions.
* Participate in assessment of course and program learning outcomes.
* Use technology effectively to communicate with students and colleagues, to teach online as needed, and to enhance classroom learning as appropriate.
* Engage in professional development activities through participation in conferences, workshops, seminars, and professional associations to maintain excellence in the discipline and in the classroom.
* Demonstrate a sense of professionalism and consistently reflect Bristol's core values while interacting with members of the Bristol community.
