The Superintendent of Schools announces the following position within the Fall River Public School System:

Art Teacher

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Appropriate Massachusetts Teacher Licensure.

Director of Fine Arts

• Teaches basic art concepts, techniques and an appreciation for art.
• Organizes daily lesson plans for each grade level taught, and submits weekly lesson plans to the Director of Fine Arts.
• Performs such other tasks and assumes such responsibilities assigned by the Director of Fine Arts.
• Exhibits student art work as requested by the Director of Fine Arts at various elementary schools and/or annual student art exhibit.
• Participates in curriculum and staff development programs.
• Demonstrates good drawing ability and knowledge of subject area.
• Maintains professional competence through in-service education provided by the school system, and in self-selected professional growth activities related to arts.
• Participates in faculty committees and sponsorship of pupil activities.
• Ability to adapt new and innovative lesson plans on a yearly basis.
• Establishes and maintains good classroom management.
• Adapts materials and methods to the interest, needs and abilities of groups and individual pupils.
• Dresses appropriately and in a professional manner.

In accordance with the Fall River Educators' Association contract. Continued employment is contingent on work performance, program need, and funding. Salary ranges from $59,491-$105,164 from Step 2 to Step 12, Bachelor's Degree-CAGS/Doctorate Degree.
